Natia Tsotsonava is the Head of the Non-Banking Institutions Supervision Department at the National Bank of Georgia, specializing in the supervision of the microfinance sector.

 

With over a decade of experience in both banking and non-banking supervision, she has developed deep expertise in financial analysis, compliance oversight, and risk management. Throughout her career, Natia has played a significant role in shaping regulatory frameworks that ensure the stability and transparency of non-banking institutions.

 

Natia contributed to the development of Georgia’s new microbank model and its legislative framework and actively participated in an IMF technical assistance mission aimed at strengthening financial regulation in Georgia.

 

In addition to holding a master’s degree in finance, Natia has earned key professional qualifications from esteemed institutions such as the Joint Vienna Institute, the IMF, the Bank of England, and ACCA. These academic and professional achievements have provided her with a robust foundation in financial stability, stress testing, and international accounting standards.
